Frequently Asked Questions about Prana Healing
Everything you need to know about Pranic Healing — from the basics and a typical session to how it differs from Reiki.
Important notice: Prana Healing is a complementary method and does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment. For health complaints, please always consult a doctor or psychotherapist first.
Prana Healing (also known as Pranic Healing) is an energy-based complementary healing system developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. It is based on the concept that the body is permeated and surrounded by a bioelectric energy field (the energy body or aura). Prana — the Sanskrit word for life energy — keeps the physical body alive. In Prana Healing, this energy field is cleansed and energised to support the body's natural self-healing abilities.
Pranic Healing works in two fundamental steps: first, cleansing (removing dirty, depleted, or blocked energy from the energy body) and second, energising (replenishing the cleansed areas with fresh, vital prana energy). The Prana Healer works without physical contact, directing energy using specific techniques and intention. The technique is based on the principle that healing begins in the energy body before it manifests in the physical body.
You lie comfortably on a treatment table or sit relaxed. You remain fully clothed — no physical contact takes place. I first scan your energy field to identify areas of energy depletion or congestion. I then carry out the cleansing and energising techniques I learned during my training as a certified Prana Healer. A session typically lasts 45–60 minutes. Many clients report a feeling of deep relaxation, warmth, or tingling during the session.
No. Prana Healing is explicitly not a medical treatment and does not replace medical diagnosis or therapy. It is a complementary method to support general wellbeing and quality of life. Prana Healing does not make medical diagnoses, treat diseases, or prescribe medication. For health complaints, please always consult a doctor first. Prana Healing can be used as a complementary method alongside conventional medical treatment.
Both methods work with the body's life energy, but differ in several key aspects: Prana Healing is non-contact, while Reiki often involves light physical touch. Prana Healing always begins with an active cleansing phase before energy is replenished. The Prana Healing system is highly systematised with specific protocols for different conditions. Reiki is more intuitive and lineage-based. Both systems have their strengths — I chose Pranic Healing for its precision and systematic approach.
This depends on your goal. For general wellbeing and energy balance, 1–2 sessions per month are recommended. For acute complaints or intense periods of stress, weekly sessions may be beneficial at first. For deep energetic work over longer periods, I recommend an individual programme that we develop together in the initial consultation. Most clients report a noticeable improvement in their energy levels and general wellbeing after 2–3 sessions.
Prana Healing is suitable for anyone who wants to support their wellbeing and vitality on an energetic level. Typical reasons to seek it include: stress relief and relaxation, support with exhaustion and burnout, general revitalisation, emotional balance, and accompaniment through intense life phases (grief, transitions, illness). Please note: Prana Healing complements medical treatment — it does not replace it.
Yes — and this is one of my particular strengths. As a certified NLP Practitioner and Prana Healer, I combine both methods as needed. NLP works on the level of mental patterns, language, and conscious processes. Prana Healing acts directly on the energetic level. The combination is especially effective for emotional blockages, deep-rooted fears, and burnout recovery: while NLP changes the mental patterns, Prana Healing supports the energetic integration of those changes.
Yes. Distance healing sessions are explicitly provided for in the Prana Healing system and are considered equally effective as in-person sessions. Energy is not bound by physical distance. Online sessions are conducted via video call, so we remain in contact and I can observe your responses.
Prana Healing is generally safe and gentle. However, there are some situations where special care is advised: During pregnancy, no intensive treatments are carried out in the abdominal area. For active heart conditions and pacemaker wearers, please inform me in advance. After surgical procedures, we wait for the medically recommended recovery period. In the initial consultation we discuss your health background so I can tailor the session optimally to you.
